Vincent Chikwendu Nwanma is a versatile analyst, researcher and journalist who has reported for Inter Press Service, Bloomberg News, Dow Jones Newswires, The Christian Science Monitor, The Africa Report, Global Finance Magazine, among others. He was online editor at BusinessDay newspaper in Lagos, and Nigeria Country Program Manager for the Bloomberg Media Initiative Africa. Funded by Bloomberg Philanthropies and Ford Foundation, the BMIA Financial Journalism Training aims to raise the number of well-qualified business and financial journalists in Africa. It also seeks to encourage data-based reporting across the continent.
Vincent is the author of three books: Creating Wealth through the Stock Market; Do It Well; and Reporting Business and Economy: A Handbook for Analysts and Journalists. A fourth book, When Stocks got Stuck: The Crash and Rise of Nigeria’s Capital Market, will be published soon. Vincent's first degree is in economics from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, in 1984, specialising in econometrics and mathematical economics. He later studied business journalism at the Graduate School of Journalism, Columbia University, New York, as a World Bank Scholar and Knight-Bagehot Fellow.
